Day 26 is “Close up.” I made the mistake once of letting my girls look through a Flickr group of several thousand photos of Blythe dolls. Since then, they’ve wanted one, and I’ve tried to explain that they’re very expensive and I wasn’t going to buy them one, we’d just have to look at pictures of them… Then I happened upon mini versions of Blythe, so of course, I had to buy them, maybe more for me than the girls… They were less than $10, still too expensive because I’m a cheapskate, but they’re kind of fun to photograph.

Day 25 of the challenge is “pink.” My dear friend is having a girl, and her baby shower is this weekend, so I’m making some fancy decorations ;)

Day 24 of the 30-Day Photography Challenge is “Animal.” This is a story my 6 year old wrote about a bunch of animals and their names and what they did. It really ranks pretty low in terms of interestingness as far as her stories go — they’re usually pretty good. What makes this story better than the others is that my 6 year old signed it “By: John Kennedy.” If I could only explain how hard I laughed when I read that part. Her response to my laughter was, “Mom, it’s not even a funny story, so why are you laughing?” HAHAH :)
Avery’s Room :)
So, we’re doing this transition for Avery’s room from her pink bows and polka dot type theme to a little bit more mature look. I think. I’m kind of coming up with stuff out of nowhere, but she seems to love it all so far :) A while ago I shared the owls we made out of scrapbook paper and then framed. I guess they turned out well as I later found them pinned by someone on Pinterest :)
So, in keeping with the red and turquoise theme, I designed this lampshade for her using a generic hanging lamp cord and white lamp shade from Ikea. She LOVES it, which makes me so happy!
Then I had promised her months ago to make a paper crane mobile, so I finally created one, although I think it needs more cranes. I’m still deciding.
Lastly, I started to paint this stencil on the wall, but it’s taking me quite a while. It’s in an odd place and I have to hold my wrist in a weird way, so I can only do a little at a time :)
I love that I/we have been able to make these things and I haven’t spent much money at all ;)

Day 23 of the 30-Day Challenge is “sunflare.” I was a little worried because it was pretty rainy and cloudy in the morning, then cleared up a little before getting cloudy and sprinkly again. I think if I had’ve waited longer, I would have been out of luck.
{22/30}
Day 22 of the challenge is “hands.” The girls got these yo-yos as part of a school fundraiser, and let me tell you, for what they cost, they’d better last FOREVER.
{21/30}
For day 21 of the 30-Day Photography Challenge, the theme was “faceless self-portrait.” I didn’t even know what I was supposed to shoot until pretty late in the day yesterday, so I’m glad I could still pull off something without having to put too much effort in. We spent too many hours in the sun participating in a breast cancer walk in our town that our good friends are very involved in. I’ve done it every year since its inception :) So, here’s a few snapshots of our day and the last picture is my very tired and wanting to go to bed attempt at a faceless self portrait.
{20/30}
Day 20 is “Bokeh” – no shortage of that here :) I was lucky to get this in today between 2 soccer games, team photos, shopping for a birthday party, delivering child/gift to the bday party, helping set up for a cancer walk tomorrow morning…. I’m too exhausted to think of what else. My kids love soccer, but it eats up a heck of a lot of my Saturdays!
So behind! {16/30} through {19/30}
It’s been a busy week… I’ve been taking the pictures for the 30-Day Challenge, but no time to upload! So here’s a multiple-day catch-up :)
Day 16 – “long exposure”
Day 17- “technology” – my DVR’s talk to each other :) So cool!
Day 18 – “your shoes” – I kick them off by the door…
Day 19 – “Orange” — got the Halloween decorations down tonight for some decorating tomorrow. Halloween is like a 5-week long event :)
{15/30}
Day 15 of the 30-Day Photography Challenge is “Silhouette” — here’s Avery having a safari in the front yard :)
