Not a lot I can say about this one. It just makes me laugh so hard. I used it for her 2nd birthday party invitation – and I think the wording said, “Come to my party, OR ELSE” or something similar :)

Patriotic Program, from February

Tonight I was talking with Avery about her upcoming play (in which she plays the LEAD role… heart palpitations for mom…) and it dawned on me that I never went through photos of Ainsley’s Patriotic Program from two months ago. Taking photos in a dark cafeteria behind a crowd who are all holding up their cell phones to get pictures isn’t exactly what I’d call the best circumstances, and I’m always pretty bummed out with what I capture in the poorly-lit, overcrowded room. HOWEVER, the girls don’t care if my photos stink, so I promised her I’d go through some after she went to bed tonight :)

Showing off her sticker – ready to march to the cafeteria.

A little nervous anticipation…

Circling around into their positions:

Waiting for her “line”

Presenting Lady Liberty!

Fluting, dancing, and attempting to do “America the Beautiful” in sign language (her teacher is ambitious!)

Posing and showing off her Presidents’ Day book she made:

Their presidential portraits, so cute :)

BFF’s :)

There’s no rhyme or reason to how I’m going back and editing old photos. When I used to import from my camera to my computer, I used to use the Nikon software, and after a couple of years, I realized what a big mistake that was. I prefer to organize by year/month/description of event than to put every photo from an import into a folder with just a number. Hello “Picture Project!” Yikes, what horrible software that is/was. It’s not easy to find what I’m looking for, and everything is just in a numbered folder from 001 to 671. It spans several years… it’s overwhelming! So I’m slowly going back and changing how things are organized, and it’s made it all just a little easier so far.

This one is just a simple snap of Avery. I’m trying to gather some older photos of the girls so I can combine them with the newer ones I already have printed and framed :)

Another old photo that I’ve always loved. My shutter was obviously a bit too slow, but it’s still one I love and intend to print :) Ainsley is 15 months old here.

I have more than a terabyte of photos, taken over the span of almost ten years, that I desperately need to go through and pare down. When the girls were really little, I almost never had time to do things like print photos that I took (imagine that…) so I decided to add yet another project onto my plate and go through old photos, edit and/or just save the ones I want to print, and delete the rest. A terabyte is a LOT of stored pictures to go through. Wish me luck, LOL :)

This one of Avery was taken on October 30th, 2007. I’ve always loved its candid feeling :)

Very busy day today. And my week is only going to get busier! Sometimes when I’m overly stressed with my mom “duties” and things going on at work, I find myself wanting to get more and more lost in photography, which only sets me further behind…
