I’m shooting a wedding today – the first one in three years. I’m a little nervous! I spent lots of time yesterday cleaning lenses and cameras and checking settings to be sure I’m all set. Last night we had a rehearsal and I think I have it all figured out when to be standing where in order to get the shots I need to get. Wish me luck!
Our house was just a couple of blocks away from Port Hueneme. It was in the 70’s most days, just a little breezy, and such a nice last hurrah for summer. We had cocktails on the beach, I read magazines, Jared perfected his Sudoku game, and we played dominos under an umbrella. I love everything about the beach but sunscreen, which I have to pile on because I’m so fair-skinned and my dad has already had several pre-cancerous growths removed from his skin. I’m missing the beach, but not the goopy feeling of sunscreen :) One more week left of summer. BOO!

Not great quality, but just a few to share from our week at the beach. Our house is located right on the sand – I’m both not wanting to leave and anxious to get home to our everyday life. We’ve been here since Saturday, and I miss my kitty! I know some of you who visit my blog have already added me, but if you didn’t see my post before and want to find me on Instagram, I’m “snippets” there.
Sunset at Silver Strand Beach. We’re just a little ways away from Port Hueneme. We took a really long walk down to the mural wall that separates the beach from the port earlier today and saw a huge ship leave the port. It was super cool :) (this was taken with my iPhone!)
We’re on a quick getaway this week – so nice to have a last chance this summer to relax and not worry about work and school. I finished one book and started another – what a concept! Just snapping some pics here and there with the iPhone :)
We had a long day today. I’m pooped. I barely even picked up the camera. I did have it with me, however, at Michael’s Craft Store this afternoon to capture that yes, it’s July 20th, and yes, the Halloween decorations are already out. My kids were in total disbelief. And so was I…
