Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 21: Thankful for time with family and friends. We had Thanksgiving a day early this year because we had planned to go camping from Thursday – Sunday with some friends. I’m glad my family is flexible and is willing to stuff themselves two days in a row so they could join us for Thanksgiving brunch on Wednesday prior to their ‘real’ dinner on Thursday ;)

Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 20: Thankful for birds on wires. Without them, somedays I’d have a lot less to photograph. I seem to take LOTS of pictures of birds on wires, and every time I see a gathering of them, I either take their picture or wish I could! It’s a sickness…

Texting with Santa

Want to know my trick for encouraging my kids to behave this time of year? I put myself in my own contact list on my phone and labeled it “Santa Claus.” I send myself text messages and reply to myself and then delete accordingly to make it look like a conversation, then show the girls so they can read it all. So far it’s working like a charm ;)

Or maybe sharing this just makes me look like a total freak, since technically I’m texting and replying to MYSELF, LOL :)

Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 19: Thankful for vacation from work and school! The girls had fun today putting on makeup and painting their faces with a face-painting kit. At one point, Avery offered to paint Ainsley’s face, and when she was almost done, said, “Now remember, Ainsley, I’m not a professional, so this flower I’m painting might be kind of ugly to you.” LOL :) It was so cute!

Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 17: Thankful that my husband not only supports my photography hobby, but encourages it as well. Yesterday after the girls’ (rainy!) soccer games, I told him I wanted to try to get a picture of the storm from up high, so he ran with the idea and drove me up into some fire roads to get up high. I only had my 85mm lens with me, which limited by ability to capture the scene, but I’m thankful he likes to give in to a whim just as much as I do :)

Thirty Days of Thankfulness, Day 15: Thankful for our animals :) They provide much laughter, much snuggling, much pet hair.

Our wedding :)

I had to redo this blog post because my site got so much traffic in December that it shut down my photohosting URL and instead of moving a ton of picutures, I just set a few to “private” for a while :)

A big big “thank you” to my friend Kelly Mendoza of True Bliss Photography for taking our wedding photos for us :) We were glad to have it all documented by a professional, and wanted a very casual approach to it all, which Kelly captured so well. Another huuuuge “thank you” to my friend Danielle, who owns Batter Up Cupcakes in Poway for the delicious cupcakes that everyone LOVED. And a GIANT GIANT GIANT “thank you” to my mom and pops for offering up their backyard for our small little affair. It was perfect :)

We’re so glad so many family members and friends came from near and far to help us celebrate!

I think reality still hasn’t quite set in that we’re actually married… still riding the high ;)
