I know moms are always partial to their own children, but this little girl is just the coolest thing ever ;)

Christmas morning :)

I took the first picture just after midnight Christmas Eve/Day. We had family over and I was waiting until the last possible moment to put all of the presents out. My kids got a LOT of books, a few toys, some puzzles, clothes, etc. I’m thankful that they like books, because when it’s all said and done, they sure do get a lot more out of those books than they do out of one or two toys they only pick up a few more times. That said, Santa did bring them some pretty cool girl-geared Lego sets and, of course, that is what they wanted to play with once we cleaned up :) The cat reallllly wanted to be a part of things, and he’s pretty harmless. The dog, however, had to be locked up so that she didn’t make off with pieces from their sets and chew them up. She’s become notorious for eating things that are not food… Merry Christmas!

I’m very glad our Elf on the Shelf visit is over. It’s lots of fun for my kids, which is why I set my own sanity up on the shelf, and take the elf off for a few weeks. He actually never once sat on a “shelf” this December ;)

Just some daily pictures to catch up with my 365+1 project. That’s almost over, too.

We stayed up way too late last night getting ready for Christmas morning. My kids slept until 7:30am, too – I don’t think they’d slept in that late since summertime… figures!

Christmas shopping in the rain – makes me love Amazon THAT much more…

I dropped my camera recently. I *think* it’s okay, but my light meter seems a stop or so off :(

Molly was sun-bathing in the backyard. Me standing at the door with my camera didn’t even make her budge ;) Usually she’s chomping at the bit to get back in.

Elf on the Shelf, December 24th

YAHOO! The last day :) Milo had baked some cookies to look JUST like himself. Amazing, I tell you… he also wrote the girls a note to let all of us know that it’s okay to eat the cookies and to move him when we need the table for Christmas Eve dinner :)

Today Milo is ice fishing in a big block of styrofoam. Only one more day of this…

Milo and Barbie were having a date (this was the girls’ interpretation). Milo is enjoying a giant feast and Barbie has three pieces of lettuce…

Elf on the Shelf, December 21st

Milo stayed up late last night at an end of the world party, so this morning he was working a little more slowly than usual. Catching up on some reading while awaiting fireballs from the sky.

Rapunzel had let down her hair for him this morning. Too bad Milo didn’t realize there were stairs right there that he could have used.

He was sunbathing in the kitchen window. The girls thought this was pretty funny, but it took them a long time to find him ;)

Fortunately, rain is about as bad as it gets here :)
