Senior Portraits at Disneyland

What a fun experience — and a very challenging one, too! This is Emily – she’s the daughter of a friend at work. Emily (and their whole family, really) loves Disneyland, and wanted her senior portraits done there. It was a tough task to attempt to get pictures without other park patrons in them, but overall I think I did okay :) We battled the sun all day, however — it was either get there early and deal with the sun or wait for better lighting and deal with the crowds. We ended up staying for several hours, and the later afternoon sun allowed for a little more shade to do portraits with. We tried to vary them between more serious poses and some silly ones, too. Here’s hoping she likes them :)

Let’s Get LOST Together

For a while I’ve wanted to make some dorky graphics with pictures and quotes/thoughts/etc. I have a few stashed away to work on at some point – this picture that I took in Death Valley was one of them :) Not sure what I’ll do with them, if anything — just kind of for fun and to satisfy my need to use Photoshop :)

Relishing the down time…

Just a few days left of vacation. We’re trying to soak up every moment that we don’t HAVE to be somewhere :)

Relishing the down time...

Last picture of our tree…

The trash man is nice enough to haul away Christmas trees in our city, so we need to have ours out by Thursday. It’s coming down tomorrow :) I thought I’d take one more shot before it’s all gone. And this is NOT 1/365, even though I am a total sketchy waffler about this whole ‘photo a day’ business…

Happy New Year!

I’ve been working a little behind the scenes on changing up my blog because my header images were really, really out of date. So I changed all but one, and changed the look of things too :) I decided that since I have this sickness called “365 project” (itis?) I am not going to go out of my way to take a new photo everyday, but of course I cannot detach my camera from my eye socket for long, so I plan to edit some older photos I want to go back and fiddle with and still capture things as they happen around here :) If you’re a blog reader here and are doing a 365 project, please leave a note with your URL because I’d love to follow along :)

All 366 for 2012

Whew!

366 for 1012 :)

I thought there was no better way than to finish this project with a photograph of the very thing(s) that made me want to delve into photography to begin with. Happy new year, everyone :)

One more day of this project and then I’m letting myself off the hook for a while :) Making some blog changes too for the new year. I think I’m going to edit some old stuff I never got to and just fiddle around more without feeling the pressure (which I realize I put on myself) of capturing something I feel is worth sharing every day.

363 – 364.366

There is nothing like a quick trip to the desert with my husband to give me a re-energized spirit and a giant smile on my face. I love that time with him, he’s doing what he loves and I’m doing what I love. It’s nice to have hobbies that compliment each other well.
