Obsessed

I have never had a cat that was the least bit interested in water. This cat, however, is OBSESSED with drops of water. When I’m washing the dishes, he wants to sit right next to the sink. When I’m washing my face at night, there he is. When someone washes their hands, he comes running.

His mother was discovered living on a boat, which is where he and his brother and sister were born. All three cats (his brother belongs to our friends and his sister belongs to my mother-in-law) are completely obsessed…

Field Trip

My students and I went on a field trip up to the Wildlands Conservancy in Oak Glen, CA this past week. Our trip had previously been cancelled due to weather, but we were able to reschedule, and still got to have fun in the snow. I almost left my camera at home, but I’m glad I chose to bring it afterall. They had so much fun – about 10 of them had never seen or touched snow before!

Salton Sea Birthday Camping

My husband’s birthday is tomorrow, so we celebrated early with an adult camping trip to the Salton Sea. All I can say is that I haven’t had that much fun in the middle of nowhere in a long time. We spent time on this trip talking about our next one! I was ready to take a break from junk food and sand, though ;)

Grumpy Cat Cookies

An early birthday camping trip snack for my husband — he kind of loves “Grumpy Cat,” and “Grumpy Cat” would never actually wish anyone a HAPPY birthday. A “Happy Damn Birthday” is much more his style, LOL :)

We’re headed out of town for the weekend so I had these cookies made early for our trip. My friend’s sister in law makes them here locally. She’s awesome!

Happy early birthday to my husband...

A Day in the Life

On a Saturday a couple of weeks ago, I photographed our day to share on the ClickinMoms Blog – what we did here and there all day long. We started our day snuggling in bed and getting up and moving pretty slowly and ended it hanging out with our neighborhood friends around a little portable firepit that Jared and I like to tote around. It was fun to try to capture little pieces of our day, but I had to hold back from photographing every little thing…

I did this project on a day about 6 years ago, too. Ainsley was a baby, then :) Suffice it to say, I’ve learned a lot about photography since then!

Bubble-Blowing

This past weekend we broke out the bubbles, mostly to see how the dog would react. The result was the discovery of Molly’s absolute and total FEAR of bubbles. So we took the bubbles to the front yard and left the dog to curl up in the fetal position in her crate. LOL :)

Making a sort of dreary day a little brighter :) 5/52

Recent Randomness

I’m still mourning the loss of my 365 mojo, but I’m also enjoying just taking a photo now and then when I feel like it ;) Happy Monday!
